Course Registration Terms
Effective 5 August 2026 · Six Gates Technology LLC · American Fork, Utah
These terms apply to registration for short courses offered by Six Gates Technology LLC
("Six Gates", "we"). By registering for or paying for a course you agree to them.
They are written to be read rather than to impress. If anything here is unclear, ask before you
register and we will answer plainly.
1. Registration and fees
- A seat is confirmed when payment is received, or — where you are paying by invoice or
purchase order — when we confirm in writing that your seat is held.
- Courses are offered in two formats: onsite at our offices, and
virtual — shown on the course page as live online — delivered live over video. The instruction, materials, exercises, and
hours are the same in both. The fee differs and is stated on the course page.
- The fee covers instruction and course materials in both formats. For an onsite seat it
also covers lunch and refreshments on both days; a virtual seat is priced lower and
does not include them.
- The fee does not cover travel, lodging, ground transport, or any other expense you
incur in attending — nor, for a virtual seat, your own equipment, internet access, or
software. Those remain yours in all circumstances, including if a course is cancelled or
rescheduled.
- A seat admits one named person. Where a virtual seat is issued, any joining
link or credential we send is personal to you and may not be shared, forwarded, or used by more
than one person.
- Fees are stated in US dollars and are exclusive of any taxes that may apply.
2. If you cancel
- Full refund for cancellations received one week or more before your cohort's
first day.
- Inside that week the fee is non-refundable — but you may send a colleague in
your place, move your seat to a later cohort, or switch between the onsite and virtual formats,
all at no charge. Tell us the name, the date, or the format and we will take care of it.
- Non-attendance without notice is treated as a cancellation inside the week.
- Where cohorts are priced differently, a transfer is made at the price you originally paid.
Where the formats are priced differently, a switch is settled at the difference
— we refund it when you move from onsite to virtual, and collect it when you move the other way,
subject to a seat being available.
- Discounted seats, including student seats, are not transferable to another person
and may be moved between cohorts but not converted to an onsite seat at the discounted price.
3. If we cancel or reschedule
We may cancel or reschedule a course — for insufficient enrollment, instructor illness, venue
failure, or any other reason. If we do, you may take a seat in a later cohort or receive a
full refund of the fee you paid, at your choice.
Please read this part before booking travel. Our responsibility if we cancel or
reschedule is limited to refunding the fee you paid. We are not responsible for airfare,
hotel bookings, or other costs you have committed to, and we cannot reimburse them. If a
course running is a condition of your travel spend, buy refundable or changeable tickets, or wait
for us to confirm the cohort is going ahead — we are glad to confirm on request.
We will give as much notice as we reasonably can — normally at least seven days before the first
day where a cohort is not going ahead.
4. Confidential, controlled, and classified information
This course is designed so that you never need to disclose your source code, data, or results.
You work on your own equipment against your own repository. We do not collect, upload, or retain
your work product, and the instructor does not review your source. Participant presentations are
limited to interfaces, invariants, claims and authority — shape, not content.
You are solely responsible for deciding what you bring and what you say. You
know your obligations and we do not. In particular:
- You are responsible for compliance with your own employer's policies, any non-disclosure
agreement you are subject to, and any applicable export-control, classification, or
data-handling requirements — including US export-control rules where disclosure to another
participant may constitute an export.
- You should select a capability you are permitted to discuss at the level of interfaces and
guarantees, and clear your participation with your own security or compliance office where
there is any question.
- Do not bring classified information to this course, and do not disclose
controlled information to the room, the call, the instructor, or other participants.
- Virtual attendance does not change any of the above, and in one respect sharpens
it. A virtual cohort may include participants joining from outside the United States,
and a disclosure made on the call reaches them as it reaches everyone else. If your obligations
turn on the nationality or location of the people you are speaking to, assume you do not control
either, and choose what you say accordingly. Tell us before registering if you need to know the
composition of a cohort, and we will tell you what we can.
- Six Gates is not a party to your confidentiality obligations, accepts no responsibility for
information you or another participant chooses to disclose, and gives no assurance that the
setting is appropriate for any particular category of controlled information. That assessment
is yours.
Other participants are not bound to you by any agreement with us. If you require a mutual
non-disclosure agreement among attendees, tell us before registering and we will discuss whether
it can be arranged.
5. No recording
Participants may not record audio or video, photograph screens or whiteboards, or livestream any
part of the course. This protects everyone present, and it is a condition of attendance in both
formats. We do not record sessions either — not the room, and not the call.
For virtual attendance this means specifically: no screen recording, no use of the
conferencing platform's own recording or transcription feature, no automated note-taking or
meeting-assistant tool, and no re-transmission of the session to anyone not registered for it.
If a tool of that kind is enabled by default on your account or by your employer, turn it off
before joining. Attendance is not permitted from a room or device that is being recorded for
another purpose.
6. Course materials and your work
- Slides, exercises, and any software supplied during the course remain the property of Six
Gates or its licensors. You receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use them
within your own organisation, including in your own work.
- The course repository — the starting project containing the proof corpus, the
floor library, and the enforcement system — is supplied under that same licence. You may build
your own systems on it, inside your organisation, including commercial ones. Access is
personal to you and granted on registration. Do not share your access, add others to
it, or republish the repository or any substantial part of it, publicly or within a wider group
than your own organisation.
- You may not redistribute, publish, resell, or use the materials to deliver training to others
without our written permission.
- Any software we supply is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. It is
teaching material, not a supported product, and it is not certified or qualified for use in any
safety-critical, regulated, or mission-critical system.
- Your work product is yours. Anything you write during the course — including
the specification you produce — belongs to you or your employer. We claim no rights in it and
keep no copy.
7. No guarantee of outcomes
This is professional education. We will teach the material described and give you our honest
judgement, but we do not warrant any particular result — that you will complete a
specification, produce working code, achieve a given level of reliability, satisfy any standard or
regulator, or obtain any commercial or technical benefit. Descriptions of what participants
typically achieve are illustrative, not promises.
Cost figures, ratios, and other quantitative examples used in course marketing and materials are
illustrative, derived from stated assumptions and third-party published prices at a point in time.
They are not projections of your costs or savings and should not be relied on for budgeting.
Nothing in this course is legal, regulatory, safety-certification, security, or export-control
advice.
8. Limitation of liability
Our total liability to you arising out of or relating to a course — on any basis,
including contract, negligence, or otherwise — is limited to the amount of the fee you actually
paid for that course.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary
damages, or for lost profits, lost data, business interruption, wasted expenditure, or travel and
accommodation costs, even if we have been advised that such loss is possible.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
9. Conduct, premises, and the virtual platform
Onsite courses are held at our offices. Please follow the site, safety, and access instructions
given on arrival. You attend at your own risk and are responsible for your own property.
Virtual courses are delivered over a third-party video conferencing service. Your use of that
service is subject to the provider's own terms and privacy policy, and we are not
responsible for your equipment, connectivity, or the provider's availability. We may
change providers where we need to. If a failure on our side causes a substantial part of a day to
be lost, we will offer you a seat in a later cohort or a proportionate refund; ordinary
interruptions to your own connection are not grounds for a refund.
In either format we may decline attendance to, or remove, any participant whose conduct is
disruptive, unsafe, or in breach of these terms — including the recording prohibition in section
5. Where we remove someone for cause, no refund is due.
10. Privacy
Registration is handled by Stripe, which collects the information needed to take
payment and identify your seat. See our Privacy Notice for what we
collect and how it is used. We do not sell personal information.
11. Changes, governing law, and contact
We may adjust course content, schedule, or instructor where necessary; the subject matter and
duration will remain substantially as described. These terms are the ones in force on the date you
register.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, and the courts of Utah County, Utah
have exclusive jurisdiction. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
